The Bar & Whisky Room
The bar at the Reading Room is a stylish playground for those looking to unwind amidst an overriding sense of joie de vivre and luxury. It’s a place where you celebrate your love for expertly crafted cocktails paired with scrumptious cuisine and most significantly, a collection of rare whisky at the Whisky Room which features over 60 premium blends and single malts. The Whisky Room is an exclusive setting for intimate gatherings while the main restaurant hosts larger groups.
Afternoon Tea
At The Roseate Reading is a unique experience. Guests can choose from the tailored tea menu that offers 20 variants of loose-leaf teas from family owned organic and fair-trade estates. The award winning tea selection is served with an assortment of classic sandwiches and a selection of delectable cakes, freshly baked scones served with strawberry preserve and smooth clotted cream.
Event and Banquet Spaces
Designed for bespoke gatherings of up to 60 guests, The Roseate Reading has a bouquet of versatile event spaces that offer the perfect background for celebrating your big day, each with a unique setting. From the intimacy of the Library or The Cellar to the lovely Eden Room with hand painted flowers that cover the walls of what used to be the original council chambers with the original fire place, our spaces offer an elegant and romantic atmosphere to exchange your vows amidst the august presence of your loved ones.
The Cellar
The Cellar is the ideal venue for a ceremony or an intimate dining experience. Contemporary in design and functionality, The Cellar has luxurious chairs and can host up to 14 guests.
The Library
The Library has large windows facing Forbury Square, that let sunshine waft in and provide warmth and light. An elegant fireplace adjacent to the windows makes it a perfect cosy and intimate setting. Guests are assured of personalized service and seamless facilities. The Library also connects with the Lobby Room which is ideal for an intimate get together over drinks before dinner.
The Eden Room
The Eden Room is ideal for private dining or gathering of up to 60 guests. The walls of the Eden Room are covered with hand painted flowers, reflective of the Biblical garden. It was originally the Berkshire County Council Chamber with a fireplace. The Eden is available in a number of adaptable settings, offering a truly bespoke experience.
Aheli Spa
At our in-house world class spa ‘Aheli Spa’, our experts will weave magic with our mindfully curated wellness treatments, promising that golden glow and an unmistakably nourished body and mind, just what you need during the most special time of your life.
Private Cinema
You could even settle your pre-wedding nerves with a movie screening in our private cinema hall ‘Upstage Mini’.

Indulge your guests with a fine culinary experience to boost their energy for the last dance. Canapés, finger food, small plates or a wholesome buffet, we promise to make it a night to remember.
The Reading Room can accommodate up to 105 guests.
EXCLUSIVE EVENING HIRE OF THE READING ROOM
MINIMUM SPEND INCLUDES:
- exclusive use of The Reading Room from 6.30pm until 12.30am
- an evening buffet or evening snacks, pre-ordered wines, cocktails, beers or soft drinks.
This can be applied to a pre- paid bar tab
- If you wish to have a ‘cash’ bar for your guests to pay for evening drinks, we will be happy to make the necessary arrangements and the agreed amount can be refunded to you once this spend is reached by the guests on the evening
